The Royal Botanic Gardens are located directly across the street from the Art Gallery of New South Wales. It is the oldest scientific institution in Australia. I probably covered only about 20% of the extensive gardens, but I had a very enjoyable walk, especially since no bicycles are allowed in the Gardens. While several areas like the Rose Gardens were dormant as it was early spring “down under”, there were a number of flowers, flowering trees and bushes reminiscent of North Carolina in April. As you’ll see in the photos, the Sydney skyline, Conservatorium of Music, Opera House and Harbour Bridge can be seen at certain vantage points in the gardens.

I’ve tentatively identified this bird (two different angles) as a Pied Currawong.
