Our first full day in New Zealand started with a city tour of Wellington. The weather was sunny but cool – and windy! We had a guided tour of the Parliament Buildings covering architecture, art and history and New Zealand’s legislative process.

We rode the Wellington Cable Car from Lambton Quay in the central business district up to the suburb of Kelburn and the top entrance of the Botanic Garden. These photos were taken on the way up.

After a short stop at the Kelburn terminus we resumed our bus tour. I took pictures of some of the hillside homes and the Botanic Garden before our return to the city proper.
